Opening to the Mahāvidyās: Walking the Path of Fierce Wisdom

A Two-Day Weekend Immersion with Vivek Nath

July 26th & 27th, 9:00 - 11:30 AM PST 2025 | 5-Hours of Live Zoom Sessions

Embracing the Mother’s Power: Building a Foundation in Mahāvidyā Wisdom

Imagine life as a vibrant tapestry where every breath, every heartbeat, and every flicker of candlelight carries the presence of the Divine Mother. Each moment holds a doorway into the realm of the Mahāvidyās, ten formidable expressions of Śakti whose energy pulses through our very being. In this immersive weekend workshop, Vivek Nath guides you into the heart of this fierce wisdom tradition, unveiling the origins and symbolism of each Mahāvidyā and showing how to approach them with loving reverence and unshakable integrity. You will learn why these goddesses “are not to be played with,” and how to cultivate a devotion that honors their potency.

Through direct teachings and guided reflections, exploring tantra’s historical roots, unpacking how patriarchal systems shaped Mahāvidyā worship, and envisioning life lived in devotion, you’ll develop a solid philosophical foundation. By journey’s end, you will stand with a clear understanding of what it means to walk this fierce path of wisdom, grounded in both understanding and respect.

Living Fierce Devotion: Life as Mahāvidyā Worship

You’ll examine what it means to embody Mahāvidyā devotion in daily life. Vivek Nath will illuminate how ritual and awareness merge: how you come to recognize Śakti’s force in every gesture, whether in silent reflection on her mantras, mindful gratitude during routine tasks, or focused attention in moments of stillness, so that each step becomes an act of living devotion.

This Workshop is Perfect For

  • Those who wish to understand Mahāvidyā philosophy at its core

  • Those drawn to devotional worship of the Mother and Tantric expressions of feminine power

  • Practitioners aiming to recognize Śakti’s presence in everyday life

  • Yogis and students of Tantra seeking meaningful inner transformation through knowledge of the Mahāvidyās

What Others Are Saying

  • “Encountering a teacher like Vivek Nath has been one of the most blessed turns in my life: his training nourishes mind and soul and gives me sure footing—and with it, strength and confidence. It is unique to have the complex grammar of Sanskrit and the lofty concepts of Vedic culture through to the tantric school of Kashmiri Śaivism laid out before you like a mandala in clear, poetic German. Through guided ritual, his students can grasp, deepen, and internalize what they learn—Vivek’s teaching and his clarity born of experience are a true gift and highly recommended for anyone on a spiritual quest!”

    Monika Sch.

  • "Vivek succeeded in meeting me on the precise level of my being, showing me the way to the center and accompanying my individual experience. About Your Teacher

Vivek Nath was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany, to a German mother and an Indian father. Since 1997, he has lived in a small āśrama on the Hariśacandra cremation ground in Vārāṇasī—his father’s hometown—situated directly on the banks of the Ganges. His great-uncle, Śrī Kauśal Kiśor Śrīvastava, introduced him to spiritual science at an early age. Vivek’s Sanskrit studies were shaped by Śrī Vāgīsa Śāstrī, who authorized him in Veda and Vāgyoga. He attended Sampūrnānanda Sanskrit University in Vārāṇasī and studied Classical Indology at the University of Heidelberg. From age 16, Vivek received yoga instruction from R. Sriram, and he also studied Veda under Śrī Rāmanātha Śarma and Philosophy under Śrī Nārāyaṇa Miśra.

Vivek’s practice traces back to a South Indian guru in the Śrīvidyā Sampradāya tradition—he and his lineage are Samayācāris, guided by a strong female teacher. Beginning in 2004, he devoted himself to Kashmiri Śaivism under Dr. Mark Dyczkowski, serving as his closest disciple for sixteen years. Since 2012, Vivek has spent significant time practicing in the Nandadevi Mountains of the Himalayas. For the past thirty years, he has commuted between India and southern Germany, teaching since 2006. In addition to performing rituals as a priest, Vivek writes and edits—authoring a series on Sanskrit mantras and rituals (Mantraśikṣā) and another on the foundational texts of Kashmiri Śaivism (Śaivaśikṣā), both of which he is preparing for publication in English and German.
